Final Year:
For this project I wanted to look into modular fashion concepts, I wanted to re-imagine what sustainable fashion is. I wanted to create a product that can be adapted to reduce the amount of garments we need to buy as individuals, instead of just using sustainable textiles . Less consumption results in fewer production emissions.
Final Collection:
For my final collection I was looking at modular fashion again. I wanted to create a collection that was inspired by retro futurism concepts and vintage sewing patterns re-imagined in a contemporary sense. I believe in the future we will have the opportunity to go on holiday to space, so my collection includes outfits that can be adapted from day to night saving space in your suitcase. Another influence behind my collection is reducing apparel consumption rates to reduce fashion related carbon emissions. Each outfit can be altered to create a number of different looks and the pieces are interchangeable throughout the collection. I have created a website simulation to show how my pieces would be advertised as they are completely customisable. I have also designed all of my own prints for my collection that are inspired by lichen growth on rocks around my home.
